Welcome to Mombian Books (Beta)
A Place to Share Books For and About Those in LGBT Families
Welcome to our community. Here you can view other people's booklists, create ones of your own, rate books, add comments, tag them with keywords, and share them.
If this is your first time here, please spend a few minutes browsing existing entries to get a sense of the types of tags and comments that seem most useful.
For each book you add, I ask that you include keywords indicating the approximate age or ages for the book's readers: infant, toddler, pre-k, elementary, tween, teen, adult. It's also useful if you indicate: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, LGBT, straight, or all. (All = content is neither LGBT- nor straight-specific.) This will help other users understand the book's coverage.
Books don't have to be LGBT specific, but if they have potential pitfalls for LGBT families (e.g., if they feature only straight couples), please say so in your comments. I'd like to keep the focus on kids' books and books for and about LGBT parents, but will not be overly pedantic about this. Books on relevant politics or useful household topics (gardening, cooking, etc.) would also be fine. Anything that strays too far afield (say, a book about Web development), I reserve the right to remove (though I'm always willing to discuss it).
Have fun, and thanks for sharing your book suggestions.
